  1. All presentations were diffrent and amazing ! we all had diffrent topics and each and everyone did an fabulous job . We all learnt something new from every topic , it was fun and educational . When i had to say the speech and do my presentation i started shivering but my presentation turned out to be really nice and smooth . The main part was that i was clear and understandable . I hope everyone enjoyed my presentation and learned something new .

  2. All our presentations had an innovative touch and a hint of humour to captivate the audience. Ms. Debbie had chosen intriguing subjects for each of us and I was particularly jubilant at mine - the renowned Olympic Games. Personally, I think that my presentation flew smoothly from slide to slide, yet I am aware there were certain nooks uncovered.

The topic the "Olympic Games," encompasses a wide range of subjects from the copious sports to the traditional celebrations viewed in the Opening Ceremony. The most challenging aspect of this task was to compile all the information in a simple, yet alluring presentation covering all the vital points. Therefore, this resulted in me speaking hastily and sometimes unintelligibly.

To grasp the audience's interest, numerous people had included fun facts and only a few had incorporated an interactive activity. The time limit was pressing for some of the students; consequently, the activity was dismissed.

I had not completed my presentation which was definitely a major downfall for me as I had contained my fun facts at the very end.
The worst part of the presentation would be the trepidation before it and the best part was definitely the laughter of the audience.
All together, it was an enjoyable experience and I hope to tidy up my loose threads the following project!

  3. Each of us got different topic's which was actually really helpful for everyone,we learnt new things that we didn't even knew about.

My topic was 'Salt' I think I was more confident this time eventhough it wasn't perfect but I tried my best,I tried puting almost all the informations I knew and present it more confidently but I was still nervous because it's hard for me to speak infront of everyone which is really bad and I need to work on it more.

I still enjoyed it & everyone did a great job.

    Thank You Miss Debbie (:

  4. Presentations. Don't you get a bit nervous when you are told to do a presentation in front of a whole classroom? I did!

It's one thing to do a presentation for people you don't know, because you're never going to see them again. But to do it for a room full of people you do know, is hard. You're going to start worrying about: what others think of you, if you make a mistake, weather you look good enough, etc. But I knew we only had to do it for ourselves. Miss Debbie only wants us to be confident with a given topic.

Every student got a different topic. I realised how much information there is about each and every title we were given. We were told to keep the presentation short and interesting. I could see as each student was presenting, small mistakes that make quite a difference, for example: If you read from your slides, it's not counted as presenting, its counted as reading. Which is not what this was about. You cannot have too much information on one slide. Pictures are more eye catching, and every one loves pictures! Clear and understandable is what you have to be while speaking. I'm not sure if I got all those down when i was presenting, but i sure will try to the next time.

    Thank you

  6. I honestly think I could have done better with my presentation. I was clear and audible, but had to rush through the content on my slides due to the short time limit.

Moreover, since my topic was based on a person, important details were a must and quite plentiful in number as well. However, I had managed to incorporate an interactive question session which made my presentation better. I also kept everything short and to-the-point to make sure my audience did not lose interest.

For our next presentation, I wish to cover up on these faults and hope to cope up with the time factor.

  7. Presentations . A word that triggered a plethora of emotions (quite a few negative ones too) just a couple of weeks ago. “What if I freeze in front of everybody?” “What if I run out of time?” “What will everyone think of me?” These were some of the worries that were nagging at quite a few of us.

The ‘big day’ far from extinguished these fears, even as fellow classmates successfully presented their work, earning tremendous applause. The varying topics kept everyone hooked, resulting in a fun, educational session. I was amazed at some mind blowing facts in most of the presentations!

I was quite happy to finish off my presentation early on, for it enabled me to enjoy other’s work tension free. My topic ‘Films’ appealed to most of my classmates, giving me an advantage! I’m satisfied with my performance overall, as I received positive feedback from my peers as well as achieving my personal goal of sticking to the time limit.

This was an enjoyable experience (finishing it was especially exhilarating!) and I’m sure we all gained invaluable, lifelong skills indubitably useful for the future!

  8. My presentation topic was silk, and to be honest I think I could have done much better. Each student was given a different topic, which made the presentations interesting. Some were given really random topics; however it was fascinating and entertaining learning different and new facts about each topic.

Some of us were nervous having to speak in front of the class, and others were excited and enthusiastic about it. I am always nervous having to speak in front of an audience, however hopefully I will overcome that fear soon. Practice makes perfect.

I was happy and relieved that I had completed my presentation within the time limit, however I could have made it more amusing and exciting. Hopefully next time I will be able to do so. I was also happy with the fact that I was clear and understandable; despite being nervous. I felt as though I wasn't rushing through my speech, I tried to take my time.

I enjoyed listening to each and every one of the presentations! Next time I wish to fix my mistakes and work on improvement. Overall I think all of us did a good job, and will do even better next time round!

  9. I got the opportunity to pick my own topic and I choose the 7 Deadly Sins,I know I could have done much better than I did, and I should grab the attention of the audience much more. With more practice, i might just get it right.

The best part about this, was that each one of us got something different so it made it even more interesting to sit and listen to what that person had found out about their topic! It went from feet to animals and then music and I found out so many thing that I never even herd before.

For a first time I think we didn't do such a bad job and if we try it a few more times we all might get close to perfect. (:

  10. I think it was a great experience for all of us. Each of us had different topics, therefore it was really interesting to learn or find new things about different objects or things. I was a little bit nervous since it was my first time, and the presentation wasn't as good as i wanted it to be but since this is our first try, next time i will definatly make better slides and of course cope with the nervousness. As for all of us it was a great learning and experience on how to make the perfect presentations.

  11. The presentations were extremely entertaining. It's always a joy to watch people work themselves up over absolutely nothing. A lot of people were just making mountains out of mole hills. Everyone got a different and unique topic. When i first saw my topic on edmodo i must admit i was quite appalled. I even managed to confuse myself over whether my topic was referring to the space galaxy or the chocolate galaxy. I went for the more practical one. Watching people present their slideshows was very rewarding and i must say was the best form of an assessment yet. I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone's slideshows. i sincerely hope that there will be another assessment like this soon. I especially enjoyed the toffies Miss Debbie handed out on the last day. :)

  13. Like everyone else, I went through the nerve wracking moment when we were asked to do a presentation in front of the class. I felt horrified when Mrs. Debbie informed us that the topics for each one of us would be on Edmodo by evening. I reached home with a thought occupied in my head, ‘what will my topic be for English?’

I logged on to Edmodo in anticipation; I was left flabbergasted when I saw my topic. It was the most random of random topics, Grapes. I researched a lot on grapes to make it interesting to grab the attention of my audience. The research not only helped me to get my presentation done with but also helped me to extend the borders of my knowledge.

I felt that my presentation lacked information and wasn’t organized. Nevertheless, i tried to make it as appealing as possible although I failed at it. I was content about the time management and my speaking skills.

However, this task was a challenging experience and I learned a lot from it. In view of the fact that now I am clear how to go about it, I am confident and enthusiastic to do well in the next opportunity I acquire.

  14. Honestly, the word ‘presentation’ gets me excited. Each student was given an exclusive topic to do their presentation on, and I must say that every single presentation was elucidative to a number of us. I surely did pick up a few interesting facts about certain aspects I wasn’t quite familiar with.Given a time limit of 3-5 minutes to comply with was one of the challenges we faced, yet every student was able to put up a good presentation despite their topics having boundless applications.

My presentation was on a topic that has appeared in nearly all the corners of the world, one that holds quite a history in specific areas, one that was popular in the region where we currently reside. My topic was PEARLS- the Jewel of the Oceans, which was a topic I was glad to work on. I intended to start off my presentation with a game of Hangman (too bad everyone was so smart that they figured out the word before I barely even began). In my presentation, I included a video, ambient music and a few interesting facts. I provided each group with printed pictures of not just multifarious pearls but also of Queen Elizabeth-I who adorned an inestimable number of pearls not just as jewellery, but also in her clothing that was heavily and intricately designed with pearls. I even took out a set of shells from my shell collection for the students to examine while I explained the involvement of oysters and clams in the process of the creation of a pearl. I used an animation for demonstrating this complex process.

Personally, I believe that my presentation went fairly well and I truly hope that my audience enjoyed it. I can only wait for our upcoming presentations where our next challenge would be to not use our cue cards and to not have much text content on our slides, which I will be eagerly looking forward to. I would also like to thank Miss Debbie for the opportunities you have been giving us to polish our skills using various different methods and in different fields.

  15. It was an extremely interesting experience I have to say. Especially that I enjoy presentations whither I'm presenting or just a listener. The chance of presenting gave me more information about my own topic " Egyptian Mummies"
the idea of having an individual presentation for each student is actually to be appreciated for the reason that it gave me personally a great idea about new information. This idea took the word "presentation" to a whole new level. It made it interesting in addition that the presentations were rich with variety of new facts.
I guess my presentation wasn't a boring one. I made sure , as much as possible, to follow the steps of presenting by making my audience attentive, interested as making it simple and clear to all. I hope you've gained the benefit from my presentation
    thank you

  16. To be completely honest, I'm not convinced that my presentation was as superb, and intriguing as it could have been - but I think it went pretty well.

When I first saw my topic "Mammoths", I literally had an expression of confusion rush across my face. What was I supposed to say to people about mammoths? The only knowledge I had was that they appeared in Ice Age. Although, when I did start researching about them - it was relatively interesting. I was thankful for being given a topic, rather than panicking about choosing an amazing topic which would've taken me a lot longer than the normal person, and I'm glad everyone's presentations were such random topics! I didn't know half of the facts about tomatoes, or feet, or silk that the some of my classmates talked about before they informed me about them.

Though, coming back to my own presentation, like I said it wasn't as awesome as I'd hoped it could've been, but I don't think I did a bad job. I feel people were entertained while being informed with new facts that they wouldn't have heard of before. I felt that I was rather confident, and the supposed mammoth noises captured the audience's attention right at the beginning which I had hoped for! I wish I could have had more time because I struggle not talking a lot, but in a nut shell - I think I did a pretty good job.

Next time I'm sure all of us will be oozing confidence, filled with facts and prepared to present!

  17. How did my presentation turn out? To be truly honest I am not so sure about it myself. In what ever we may do there will always be room for improvement no matter how much you strive to be the best in anything since none of us is perfect, yet along each step we take into the future we encounter and discover a definite amount new distinct things every single day in addition to the day of the presentations where in we all must've grasped an immense amount of information from the topics provided by our very own Miss Debbie Miranda that I'm sure many of us never stopped to think about and was surprised to receive as a topic.

I truly enjoyed presenting my topic 'The Art of Tattooing' where not only did I share information and my knowledge about it but something which was a part of me- Art! I was honestly astonished when I spotted my topic on the list because on that particular moment, I was actually creating a tattoo design for a friend! At that time I told myself "Coincidence? Nope! No coincidences, just destiny in disguise!" As I would always say. All I can say is that I was delighted to have presented about the Art of Tatooing and I hope everyone else appreciated it despite the somewhat exuberant manner of presenting. Furthermore, I have mentioned earlier in my presentation that there are a wider variety of other reasons behind the Art of Tattooing to explain it within just those few minutes however, I hope everyone had received a bit of understanding towards the topic as well as I have with all the other presentations! There we're ups and downs for all of us but that's just how it (life) goes! Doesn't it? Perhaps this time luck was just on my side nevertheless I know that I should consistently be prepared and ready along with the fun of it for the the next time we provide presentations!

I would very much like to appreciate and give thanks to the exemplary audience for their time! ^_^

  18. How would my presentation be? What will my topic be? A million thoughts rushed through my mind as Mrs.Debbie, announced the tragic news “we are going to have graded, individual presentations soon!”
First I thought it wouldn’t be so bad, then I saw my topic “DESERTS”, and I was flabbergasted, soon I thought it couldn’t get any worst! I worked hard, trying to accomplish my goal, and make a perfect presentation, but again no one, in addition, nothing is perfect.
Finally, the day of presenting our work had come, I was startled. All I hoped for was that, my chance wouldn’t come, but unluckily, Mrs. Debbie announced I would go next. My presentation didn’t go too well, as I was shaking while speaking, never the less I finished my presentation and sat down, just hoping that it was all a dream! But practice makes perfect, so I will be impatiently waiting for the next chance I acquire, to prove myself.(:

  19. PRESENTATIONS ! Its indubitably one thing , i never do without panicking , no matter how much time I am given for preparations . Infact this time I was blessed with the fact that my topic was extremely straight forward , it was a piece of cake , " FORD " .

Firstly on the day of our presentations , i held up all morning with anxiety on presenting the presentation : going through what exactly i would since it was not something i could be casual about , at the end of that it was graded work . In addition to that , when miss debbie announced my name first , i was absolutely left in a state of frenzy . My day could not get any worse .

Secondly , i individualistically believe that while i was giving my presentation , i lacked confidence , i had so many points to elaborate on , unfortunately i was unable to overcome my stage fear. On the other hand , i was completely satisfied with the presentation which i made , according to me it had accurate and appropriate information , neither was it too much nor was it too less . However i did keep in while , to finish my presentation within the time limit , and gave in my hundred percent to convey my message clearly to the audience . I was not satisfied with my presentation , but I still hope for the best feedback .

Finally , I would be breathlessly be waiting for my next opportunity to over come my stage fear , and chance to give the audience a better presentation and proof myself .

  20. To be honest when ms.debbie announced that we would be doing presentations, several emotions overcame me such as fear and shock.we were all assigned to different topics ranging from tomatoes to the olympics so nobody knew what to expect.
my topic was about hans christian andersen who was a dutch poet ,writer of plays , stories, and fairytales .he wrote many of the plays that children read to this day . i felt that my presentation has gone well, and certainly better than i had expected though i still belive i need to improve my speaking skills. i really enjoyed doing presenations , it was fun to watch and was very informative , i would love to do more presentations in class later on

  21. In utter honesty, I do not like presentations, and I was not excited for this task. However when I saw the topic 'Music in the 1960's' I was actually interested for first time since I heard about the presentations. The music in the 60's was definitely 'GROOVY' and when I researched about it, I loved it even more. The research was just the easy part, the practice, keeping the time limit and actually presenting it, was much harder.

As Ms. Debbie called out the names on the first day, I was praying that I wouldn't be called, and to my relief I wasn't. On day 2 of the presentations I was a ready, however I thought I could have done much better and was not very satisfied with my presentation, even so I was relieved that it was over!

During the presentations, I find out A LOT about the most random topics which was rather interesting.
I have mixed feeling about whether or not we should have anymore presentations in class.

    Peace & Love

  22. Honestly, speaking/presenting in front of a classroom would be the last thing I’d do!
When we were told about this particular task, I wasn’t very happy.

As Ms. Debbie called my name out, I froze for a second…suddenly, I find myself in front of the class, nervous, shaky, and ready to present my presentation on the most random topic ever, ‘Feet’! In my opinion, I did pretty well.
As I sat back on my seat, I was extremely relieved to be finally done with it and not have to worry about it anymore.

I also learned a lot from my classmates’ presentations…
Honestly, I’m confused on whether I would be happy to have more presentation tasks in the future. However, this certainly was an experience!

  23. According to me, what made our presentations interesting was the fact that all of us were given random topics. Topics as random as Horses, Grapes and Tomatoes! The first time I saw my topic, I simply stared at the computer screen looking absolutely flabbergasted. I was appointed to do a presentation on 'Horses', and unfortunately for me, I knew nothing more about Horses, than the basic knowledge that everyone else had.

So I did what anyone else in my situation would do. I went on the internet and started with my research on Horses. The more information I found, the more interested I was in learning about Horses. Most of the facts I found out about Horses amazed me. These hoofed creatures had a lot more to them than what we think they have. They fascinated me, like a child seeing a Disney movie for the very first time.

Then came the hardest task of all. I had accumulated all the information I wanted and more about Horses, but the question was, how am I going to present them? We were given a certain time limit and a number of slides our presentation could include, therefore I couldn't put all the information I collected on the slides, considering the fact that I had quite a lot of information, with a very short time period. I skimmed through my notes, then I scanned my notes, as I cut down the non-important details and focused on the main, important facts. Once I was done with getting my information cut down to a satisfying amount, I decided to include only pictures in my slides, in the hope of grabbing the attention of the audience, and I am glad to say it actually worked!

I was happy with my presenting skills, as I received numerous positive comments from my fellow class mates, after my presentation. However, I still believe that there is always room for improvement.

Overall, this particular task of presenting a presentation, helped me to boost my confidence, and helped me to make myself more comfortable at the idea of presenting in front of an audience! It was a memorable experience for sure!

  24. Self confidence. Going out there in front of all your classmates and presenting your presentation. If you had self confidence, everything will go on smooth, clear with no worries. But most of my classmates were nervous and so was I!!

The presentations went on quite well, everybody had a different subject and so we got to know more information and some added a few of “Fun facts” on their topics…but there were no fun facts about mine!!

I was really scared when it was my turn but on the other hand, I knew that I had no other option instead of starting-and there was no time to waste..This had to be done. And when I started, it wasn’t that bad at all!

My topic was ‘Classical Musical Instruments’. I found a lot of information when I surfed the net. I didn’t know anything about my topic so I was really stressed and when I knew what to add, the time (2-3 mins.) was killing me it was a huge obstacle and mostly everyone was facing it-so I cut down a lot of slides to fit in my presentation in the perfect time.

The 3 continuous days past fast and the presentations were finished after that. I assure all my dear classmates that all their power point presentations were interesting and alluring!

    Thank you,
    Roaa (9G3)

  25. When I heard "You girls need to do a presentation INDIVIDUALLY"
I was stunned. So many thoughts and were running through my mind. I did not want to do it at all, as soon as Ms. Debbie said "it was going to be graded work", I was more afraid and tensed. As I was checking which topic I was going to speak on, I was nervous. To be honest, I thought it would be hard topics but.. When I saw "Schweta Abraham: Stars" I knew that it was going to be so much easier and fun to research on 'Stars'

When the day came to present our presentation, I was frightened and worried. I knew there was no turning back. As usually I needed to gain my confidence a and present the presentation. My presentation went well I hope. It felt really good when it was all over, and i was positive did i did well. (well at least I hope)

  26. 'Wing.' Miss Debbie dragged me back into real life with her calling my name out, that was when I realised the time had came. I stood up with my shaky hands wrapped around my tiny usb and cue cards and walked in front of the whole class. I started my presentation on volcanoes.......
After few minutes, i was back on my chair and the nervous feelings were gone at once.

In my opinion, it was a pretty interesting experience. At first, it sounded frightening. But I noticed it was a important stage of learing, we got to gain knowledge of presenting as well as confidence. In addition, the fact that we all got different topics made this more fun fascinating. I enjoyed learning presenting skills as well as knowledge of other fields.

  27. I loved how everyone got a different topic for the presentation and how everyone carried it till the end, with so much confidence. Everyone was great. We all learned so MANY things we never really knew.

My topic was 'Cactus' and i think i was just OKAY,i could have done so much better but i had lack of confidence when i went up in front of the class. I enjoyed the experience and i think we should do more of these presentations so that our confidence and knowledge increases. :)

  28. I thought that everyone did their presentations amazingly well though I did not feel quite the same about mine. I have a lack of confidence so I ended up mostly reading from the que cards or concentrating on the board.

When I first saw my topic on edmodo I was unsure of whether I should be excited or disappointed as this was a totally new concept to me but as I started my research I realised it was a very intriguing and interesting subject.

I had one main concern/fear(aside from going first) which was that I would confuse the audience with the description of the feathers structure as I myself did not understand it until I saw a labelled diagram but I was assured afterwards that it had not been confusing.

  29. Presentations . A word that can turn your yummy breakfast into vicious snakes in a second .
That’s how I felt about my presentation. It didn’t help when I discovered what my topic was supposed to be – wax …
Wax? What I supposed to present about wax ? I was in a fix . But surprisingly , when I started my research I found it quite alright to collect and present . however that was what made this whole session interesting. All of us had to talk about the most random of topics , which made the whole course even more interesting and knowledgeable .
I hope for more exciting activities such as these in due course.:)
