PROJECT: THE ROME DAY
DATE: 14TH OCTOBER 2015
Students were asked to prepare an interactive presentation based on their research on various aspects of Roman lifestyle. The use of props, videos, images and handouts were encouraged to enhance quality of presentation.
The groups were as follows:
• Games: gladiators and chariot races, holidays, and entertainment (JOSEPH, ALETHEA, DAVINA)
• Baths and bath rituals • Family life (ALEENA, SANEAH)
• Weddings, marriages, and divorce (AMY, HODA)
• Housing and food and mealtime customs for the various classes( SHREYA, SCHWETA, JEWELLYN)
• Education, funerals, and theatre (JANANI, DINA, NIRANJANA)
Focus was on the major factors affecting social class such as heredity, property, wealth, citizenship, and freedom.

The lesson was enjoyable as well as informative. I find the interactive nature and element of the lesson interesting and hoping for more of the same. I rate it 10/10 for the sheer enjoyment and plethora of informative activities that was prepared and successfully executed.

Eventhough it was my first english lesson, I actually enjoyed being part of a really interactive class. The topic 'Rome' was not my cup of tea, however, there will be many more topics to come and I'm looking forward an interesting and exciting year.

I thought the lesson was extremely fun, yet informative at the same time. Furthermore, I hope that we can participate in more activities like this for other diverse topics as I feel as though it is a very enjoyable as well as interactive way of learning.

I had a great time at the Roman lesson.There were amazing roman displays, while I was listening it enhanced my knowledge about Romans and I was able to answer when our teacher taught us about Romans in class.

ReplyDeleteIt was impressive. It is very interesting to learn things that they do from old times and how they train and survive during war.
It was informative and interesting. My most favourite part was the role play about war. I liked it.
